FAQs

What types of payment do you accept?
Visa, Mastercard, Discover and cash.

Can I put multiple cats in a carrier?
No.  Cats must come in separate clean, hard plastic cat carriers with working gated front doors.  This policy ensures the safety of each cat, when they are waking up from surgery.

Can I bring my cat in a soft carrier?
No.  For the safety of your cat and our staff, each cat must come in a separate clean, hard plastic cat carrier with a working gated front door.

Does The Humane Society recognize home-administered vaccinations?
No. The Humane Society will not honor home-administered vaccinations; we will only accept proof of rabies and/or distemper vaccinations if it was administered by, or under the supervision of, a licensed veterinarian. With respect to rabies vaccination, we require proper documentation including:  manufacturer, lot number, expiration date and day given.  All such documentation must be very clearly associated with the pet being brought in for surgery.  If it is unclear, it will not be accepted.

What vaccinations are required for surgery?
Each pet is required to have rabies and distemper vaccinations in order to receive surgery. Pets can receive these vaccinations the day of surgery, if valid proof of vaccinations cannot be provided.   Rabies tags do not suffice as proof. Individuals must be prepared to produce paper work from a licensed veterinarian regarding the rabies and distemper vaccinations.

Can I pay for the entire procedure in advance?

Yes, at the time your appointment is scheduled.  You will be required to pay a deposit to hold your spot, which will be applied against your bill on the day of your pet’s surgery.  If you no show or cancel your appointment less than 48 hours before the surgery date, your deposit is kept by us and cannot be used towards a re-scheduled or future appointment.  This is so, we can keep our costs low, since surgery spots are so limited.
