Veterinarian Technician

 

Under supervision, provides assistance and support to staff Veterinarians during routine spay/neuter surgery in both the Humane Society’s standard alone clinic as well as mobile clinic.

Serves as integral member of the veterinary health care team and assists the Veterinarians to the fullest extent possible.

The Veterinary Technician will improve the quality of care and aid the Veterinarian in achieving greater efficiency by relieving them of routine technical tasks.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Successful candidates should have a strong knowledge of standard office practices and procedures; and must be proficient in computer applications. Strong customer service skills are very important, and candidate must be detail oriented.

Training and Experience:

At least six months experience working in animal care with knowledge of routine laboratory and clinical procedures. Previous surgical experience required.

Certification or a degree from a two-year program in Veterinary Technician preferred.

Some travel required.
