Spay/Neuter Clinic FAQs
What types of payment do you accept?
Visa, Mastercard & cash
Can I put multiple cats in a carrier?
No. Cats must come in separate clean, hard plastic cat carriers with working gated front doors. This policy ensures the safety of each cat, when they are waking up from surgery.
Can I bring my cat in a soft carrier?
No. For the safety of your cat and our staff, each cat must come in a separate clean, hard plastic cat carrier with a working gated front door.
Does The Humane Society recognize home-administered vaccinations?
Yes. The Humane Society will honor home-administered vaccinations; however, we will not accept any proof of rabies vaccination unless it was administered by, or under the supervision of, a licensed veterinarian. With respect to all other vaccinations, we require proper documentation including: manufacturer, lot number, expiration date and day given. All such documentation must be very clearly associated with the pet being brought in for surgery. If it is unclear, it will not be accepted. The Humane Society will accept home-administered distemper vaccinations although proper verification is required.
What vaccinations are required for surgery?
Each pet is required to have rabies and distemper vaccinations in order to receive surgery. Pets can receive these vaccinations the day of surgery, if valid proof of vaccinations cannot be provided. Rabies tags do not suffice as proof. Individuals must be prepared to produce paper work from a licensed veterinarian regarding the rabies vaccination.
Can I pay for the entire procedure in advance?
You may pay for the entire procedure in advance; however, by doing so, you must understand that you could still be responsible for additional fees should complications arise (such as a pet that is pregnant or in heat).
What happens if I forget my voucher?
If we do not receive your voucher by check out time on your pet's appointment day, you will need to pay in full.
