“The mission of The Humane Society is to end animal cruelty, neglect and overpopulation.”
The Humane Society is one of many animal welfare groups in the Southeast, all of which play a vital role in addressing the animal welfare issues we face. While the resolution to each of these issues is a worthy endeavor, The Humane Society identifies with only two: animal cruelty and animal overpopulation. The mistreatment of animals and the euthanasia of healthy, adoptable animals are unacceptable and must be put to an end.
The Humane Society strives to achieve its mission every day by:
- Educating the public on the humane treatment of animals,
- Investigating complaints and working to resolve instances of animal abuse and neglect, and
- Operating a low cost spay/neuter clinic to help reduce the number of unwanted animals.
“The vision of the Humane Society is to offer affordable spay/neuter services to the public and to treat our customers with respect and professionalism in order to spread our mission of reducing animal overpopulation, abuse and neglect.”
As guardians of limited resources, we will exercise competent and judicious management of these resources. We value integrity and ethical conduct above all else.
We strive to know and understand our customers and their needs. We respect all persons as well as our most important customers, the animals, and value our clients’ diversity and demeanor. We continually seek ways to improve our service. We encourage and appreciate our partnerships.
We value our employees and treat them with dignity and respect. We ensure that our staff has the tools and training they need to be successful. We recognize and reward them for outstanding contributions to our Mission. We empower them to improve upon the systems and processes under their control.
