Our Mission

“The mission of The Humane Society is to end animal cruelty, neglect and overpopulation.”

The Humane Society is one of many animal welfare groups in the Southeast, all of which play a vital role in addressing the animal welfare issues we face. While the resolution to each of these issues is a worthy endeavor, The Humane Society identifies with only two:  animal cruelty and animal overpopulation. The mistreatment of animals and the euthanasia of healthy, adoptable animals are unacceptable and must be put to an end.

The Humane Society strives to achieve its mission every day by:

  • Educating the public on the humane treatment of animals,
  • Assisting in the investigation of complaints and working to resolve instances of animal abuse and neglect.
  • Operating a low cost spay/neuter clinic to help reduce the number of unwanted animals.

Our Vision

“The vision of the Humane Society  is to offer affordable spay/neuter services to the public and to treat our customers with respect and professionalism in order to spread our mission of reducing animal overpopulation, abuse and neglect.”
